About Me
About Me
I am an Australian Outsider Artist known for the intricate, detailed, and whimsical drawings. Born in 1980, I spent my formative years in Sydney, attending the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts before moving to the UK and later the Netherlands, where I completed a degree in Fine Arts at the Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam.
After being diagnosed with schizophrenia, I worked as a nurse for eight years before returning to Australia five years ago. This experience has deeply influenced my art, which often explores themes of mental health and trauma. My recent work has focused on capturing the world around me, from native birds and buildings in my public housing unit to reconstructions of national disasters and the unique landscapes of Australia.
My artistic style is self-taught, and the use of vibrant colors and detailed imagery has garnered attention. I have produced over 60 drawings in the past year alone, including commissioned portraits and pieces inspired by Sydney's iconic beaches. My work has been exhibited in various shows, including the Ability Arts Market and Streets Alive Brighton Le Sands.
I continue to create art that reflects my perspective, exploring the complexities of the surroundings and experiences.Â
